Safety Critical Workers Medical

This is a term used to describe work whereby an adverse event may be serious, for example, if the person undertaking Safety Critical Work suffers a sudden health problem, i.e. collapses, then it could result in serious harm, to not also themselves, but others too.

It is important that safety-critical workers are not suffering from medical conditions or undergoing any medical treatment which is likely to cause sudden loss of consciousness or incapacity, impairment of awareness, concentration, balance or coordination or significant limitation of mobility.

Fit For Work Medicals

It is important to ensure that all types of employees, including temporary workers, are fit to do their job effectively and without risk to their own health and safety or that of others.
The result will be classified as Fully Fit, Fit With Restrictions, or Unfit directly after the medical is completed.

Assessments Covered:

A baseline health questionnaire to establish any current or previous medical/psychological health history will need to be completed before the medical.

• Height, weight and body mass
• Blood pressure measurement
• Eyesight
• Hearing (Audiometry)
• Respiratory / Lung function (Spirometry)
• Urinalysis check (For Diabetes)
• Musculoskeletal assessment
